The So Brave Project began as an idea: bodypaint young women who’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer to raise awareness and fundraise for research. In our first year, we empowered young women in four Australian states and raised over $70,000 for breast cancer research; which was shared between the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Centre for Personalised NanoMedicine. Both organisations are doing amazing things in breast cancer research.
Our project has grown too, and in 2017, So Brave Ltd became its own charity and has travelled across Australia, empowering dozens of young women, providing a platform to share experiences and to raising the profile of breast cancer in young women.
Thank you for your support, your donation allows us to continue to transform our brave young women and in 2017, funds the fabulous work of the McGrath Foundation as well as So Brave’s investment in breast cancer research.

Where does the money go?
So Brave is proud to partner with the McGrath Foundation in 2017, our year of regional focus. We were honoured to meet many of the beautiful women who are at the coalface of cancer treatment, particularly in regional Australia – our fabulous McGrath Breast Care Nurses.
So Brave Commitment to Breast Cancer Research
So Brave is committed to funding research that prevents, diagnoses, treats and monitors breast cancer in young women. In our 2017 fundraising cycle, we are looking to partner with like-minded researchers and research organisations to make this a reality.
